Report on 2008 Panther Indoor Challenge

On Sunday 12th October 2008, 36 athletes from across the County of Suffolk, met to contest the 2008 Indoor Panther Challenge. In six teams they contest vigorously in the various track and field events.
The meeting started with all of the teams rotating around six events: Speed Bounce, Balance Beam, Jumping for Height, Chest Push, Long Jump and Bean Bag Accuracy.
After lunch everyone took part in four races: 1 lap obstacle race, 1 lap sprint race, 1 lap hurdles race and finally 2 lap race.
The noise from the supporters and athletes was deafening as the excitement rose towards the end of the day which was finished with an all in obstacle relay in which every one had great fun.
When the final scores had been tallied there were trophies and medals galore and every athlete had a certificate of participation.
In the team even the Yellow Team scored the most points and were awarded Gold Medals. Silver went to the Red Team and Bronze to the Grey Team.
Trophies were presented to the first three athletes in six categories: Senior Men and Women, Intermediate Men and Women, Junior Boys and Girls.

The overall Panther Challenge Series resulted in a win for Orwell Panthers A.C. Second place went to Warren School and third place to Panther Cubs.
The medals and Trophies were presented by Joy Hoare one of several UKA Officials present at the meeting.
