WORKING WITH DISABLED PEOPLE IN ATHLETICS  

In conjunction with Sports Coach UK, WMDAFG (West Midlands Disability Athletics Focus Group) and England Athletics have developed a 1 day work shop , which is a mixture of theory and practical based activities that looks at how to include disabled people in athletics by covering:–

 ·         The structure of disability athletics in the UK

 ·         How to include disabled people in athletics

 ·         The classification structure for athletes with a disability

 ·         Opportunity to coaching youngsters with a disability using the Shine Awards and Elevating Athletics activities

 ·         Action Planning – What support do you need to work with disabled people in your club?

 Within this there is an opportunity to look at models of “Good Practice Clubs” from around the West Midlands .  

 Cost:    Free – No limit on club members attending
