Suffolk Sports Awards - 2007

at Ipswich Town Football Club

The Suffolk Sport / Archant / BBC Radio Suffolk backed awards 

were held to acknowledge the sporting achievements of 

individuals and groups throughout Suffolk.

Orwell Panthers were short-listed for the "Club of the Year Award"

Mitzi Read was short-listed for "The Team Ipswich Contribution to Disability Sport Award"

Orwell Panthers were publicly acknowledged for having obtained ClubMark in 2007

Orwell Panther member Zoe Newson was short-listed for the 

Triumph over Adversity Award for her outstanding 

performances in the sport of Power Lifting

Also short-listed were associates of Panthers:

                            for "Your Sport School of the Year" - Thomas Wolsey School.

                            for Young Sports Personality Award: Ipswich Harrier Matti Mortimer 

                                                                                            for his fantastic javelin throwing

Though none of the above were selected as outright winners, their nomination is clear evidence of the tremendous each has made to sport in the county of Suffolk.

Orwell Panthers is proud to be associated with them and all of the other winners, runners-up and nominees and with the supporters of the Awards Programme.

Highly Commended was Chairman Mike who had been nominated in the "Unsung Hero" Category
