Venue: Woodbridge Rugby Club (as previous years). Woodbridge Rugby Club is situated 2miles to the North and East of Woodbridge. Take the A1152 turning from the A12, go straight over at Melton traffic lights, take the first exit at the small roundabout after crossing the Deben, go straight on where the road forks (ignoring the left fork to Rendlesham) and turn right into the Rugby Club.
Parking: The parking space is severely limited this year as we are not allowed to park on the playing fields. If possible, please share cars, arrive in plenty of time, and park tightly, as directed. Later arrivals will have to park some distance from the Clubhouse.
Changing: Changing facilities and toilets are available (but designed for rugby players!). There is a communal shower.
Registration: Please register and pay £3 to your team organiser before the event. Please ensure that he/she has an accurate record of your age.
Start: The start is approximately 10 minutes walk from the venue, therefore please arrive in good time and start making your way to the start from 10:45 onwards. The race will start at 11:00 and the Junior event will start 5 minutes later.
The Course: The single-lap course is mainly the same as last year, is for the most part flat and is run over generally well-drained forest tracks, paths and motorbike trails. Please note that the final section of 500m to the Finish is on tarmac. Spiked shoes may not be an advantage.
The Finish: The finish is closer to the Rugby Club than the start, on a small triangle of land next to the RUPP. At the finish you will be given a raffle ticket indicating your finishing place. This should be given to your team organiser ASAP.
Afterwards: Please get your free cup of tea, coffee or squash in the clubhouse from the serving hatch. Snacks and food will also be available in the clubhouse at a reasonable price.
Safety: Medical support and an ambulance will be in attendance. The course should be well-taped, signed and marshalled and in addition there will be a lead bike and tail-bike. The organisers will have tried to identify and make safe dangers on the course but tree roots, low branches, brambles, rabbit scrapes and uneven ground may still present hazards. In addition, the route is over areas accessible to the public, so there may be dog-walkers, motorcyclists and horse-riders on the course. There are also travellers in the vicinity. In the event of a problem please inform the nearest marshal.
We all hope that you enjoy the event, the scenery and the ambience and have a good run.
